059: Past Events

When Wang Cheng and Wang Ziyu left the clothing store, they carried three or four bags, all of them full of things, and there was another pile of daily necessities waiting downstairs. Finally, they had to rent a taxi at the door and let the driver take them directly to the expansive Beijing.

At this time, it was almost noon. The banner at the entrance of Beijing University was still there, but there were not as many people entering and leaving as in the morning, and the senior brothers and sisters also left to eat. The siblings went to the dormitory.

There was no one in the dormitory, probably because it was time for lunch. The last roommate had not yet come. She was the roommate sleeping on Wang Ziyu’s bunk.

Wang Cheng helped his sister make the bed and put a mat on it while she put her toiletries in the bathroom. Their bathroom was relatively large and there was a shelf on the slanted edge of the washbasin: arranged on it were Mili and Pang Chunjuan’s items, both combined taking up half the space.

When Wang Ziyu came out, she saw that her second brother was helping her with the fan she just bought.

Although the dormitory was air-conditioned, it was impossible to keep it on all the time, and it was not good to blow too much, so the two bought a small fan after discussing it. After they had done everything, it was 12:30. They rested for a few minutes before going down to eat.

The cafeteria of Beijing University had not yet opened. Students who came to the school early could only find food outside or eat the food they brought.

There were many snack bars near Beijing University. Tomorrow was the day when school would start, but these snack bars opened for business several days in advance. Throughout the street, there were people in almost every snack bar. Some of the larger stores had more people, some had just two people. In the end, they picked a family restaurant that wasn't particularly full, and ordered two bowls of noodles and a plate of beef with sauce.

"Second Brother, this isn’t as delicious as your food." Wang Ziyu said quietly to Wang Cheng after taking a few bites.

"Of course. Do you think everyone is on the level of your second brother? Even this snack bar that has opened a chain is not." Wang Cheng was rather humble but rather proud: on the level of narcissism, he could definitely rank first. Maybe narcissism was engraved deep on his bones.

Wang Ziyu was silent.

‘I can't compliment brother in the future!’

After lunch, Wang Cheng told Wang Ziyu to stay at the dormitory. He returned to the hotel with a few bags by himself. The check-out time for the hotel was tomorrow afternoon. He only took two days off, so he planned to return to Shanhai City tomorrow morning; the tickets had already been booked.

Wang Cheng took his clothes out of the bag, and cut off the labels directly. He bought everything, and he didn't plan to return it.

On this trip, the brother and sister spent 40,000 to 50,000 yuan directly. If Mother Wang knew, then she would definitely say that they spent money arbitrarily. Of course, unless Wang Cheng was stupid, he wouldn’t tell her.

Being alone in the room was a bit boring, so Wang Cheng simply watched TV.

The TV in the deluxe double room was connected to the Internet, and one could order any program that was on the Internet themselves. Some movies that had not yet streamed elsewhere were available here. For example, a movie that Cheng Cheng recommended to him a few days ago was said to be a very popular movie. It had been in theaters for less than five days. Today was the fourth day, and the attendance rate was very high.

Cheng Cheng had a girlfriend, who he started dating during college, and was still together with after graduating. Now both of them worked in Shanhai City. Because his girlfriend liked to watch movies, the couple made appointments to go to the theater when they were free. Fortunately, both of them were natives of Shanhai City. Otherwise, like most college students and couples, they would encounter a lot of trouble as soon as they graduated.

Thinking of them, Wang Cheng remembered his days in high school.

As a group of underage children who were not yet adults, the school had not explicitly forbidden students from dating. As a result, for one after another, spring occurred in hearts. Every now and then, it was revealed who was interested in whom and who was whose girlfriend.

At that time, he was not only outstanding among his peers because of his face.

His manifestation in height and appearance was also an important reason. Though he was bald at the time, many girls still liked him, and some even joked that he was a school grass. But high school was not university after all, so that label wasn’t up for debate.

Later, a girl who was nicknamed the school flower confessed to him. He still remembered the girl with a confident expression on her face. She was a rich girl and had a lot of money at home. Many boys in school pursued her, but she never accepted them, treating the boys like playthings. No one expected she would pursue someone.

There were very few people who know that he was a monk. The people at school only thought that he liked to be bald. They knew that he was a countryman and his family was poor. In the final analysis, that was why he decided to have no hair.

Wang Cheng later rejected the girl and was retaliated against for more than a semester, because he made the girl feel so ashamed in front of the other classmates. The girl felt embarrassed, so she asked the other male students to isolate him because they were classmates. At that time, even though the teacher saw it, she said nothing at that time, probably because she was afraid of girl’s family background.

Then Wang Cheng graduated from high school. After returning to Fengxia Mountain, he never met those high school students again.

Some past events disappeared with the wind, but because this incident left Wang Cheng with the impression that women were stingy tigresses, and he never thought about falling in love.

One afternoon passed while he was bored watching TV, and when the cell phone rang, he was discovered that it was past 5:00 pm.

The call was from Wang Ziyu. She told him that in the dorm, Pang Chunjuan was very enthusiastic and asked her to go to dinner along with herself and Mili. But Wang Ziyu was worried that he would be bored by himself in the room, so she didn't know if she should agree and called to ask.

"Silly girl, since your roommate has asked you to go, you go. I haven’t been bored this afternoon. I know it’s a short outing, but you be careful and don't stay out too late before returning."

"No, second brother ..." Wang Ziyu seemed to be hesitant.

There was a faint voice of someone else talking to her over the phone, and then she came back again.

"Chunjuan asked me ... Oh, no, no, I just wanted to ask you, would you like to go to dinner with us? Chunjuan said she wants to invite you to dinner."

Wang Cheng smiled and laid down on the sofa saying, "Will it be too costly for your roommate to treat you?"

Then immediately came Pang Chunjuan's shout.

"Chunjuan said no, and she said that she had already picked the place. If you agree, we will directly meet at that restaurant. Brother, you only need to call a taxi and say the name of the restaurant, and the driver will go, got it?"

"Okay then."

Hanging up the phone, Pang Chunjuan immediately laughed crazily in the opposite bottom bunk. She was heavy and may have asked for it when she was enrolled, so the school arranged it for her.

"That’s great, your brother is so handsome, and he told us that he’d come! When eating together, others will definitely be envious. "

Wang Ziyu smiled awkwardly. In fact, she also felt that she was lucky. She had a second brother who was so nice to her and so handsome.

The girl on the upper bunk pushed her glasses up the bridge of the nose, not adding a word. Although she was relatively taciturn, Pang Chunjuan didn't refuse to invite her to eat together. No one wanted to quarrel with their dormmates that they would have for four years unless they were a fool or weren’t returning to the dormitory all year round. However, the latter was obviously unlikely, because Beijing University's school rules were very strict. If they chose to live at school, students were not allowed to stay at home overnight, or their credits would be deducted.

Wang Cheng came down the elevator and went out through the small door as he crossed the hall, so he missed the person who came in through the main entrance.

Pang Chunjuan's home was in Beijing, but her family was not local. Because she was a foodie, she had eaten through all the food streets of the Imperial Capital in the past few years. They decided to eat in Zhuang Yuan Fang, in Meifu. It was a well-known place to eat and was not far from Beijing University, only taking two stations on the subway. However, it would take several hours by car during the peak hours of work. It was said that as long as they were the provincial champion, they could eat there with 40%.

Pang Chunjuan chose that restaurant because of Wang Ziyu. After knowing that she was the provincial champion, she thought of the restaurant, and then excitedly invited Mili. The food at Zhuang Yuan Fang was a bit expensive, but there were still many people who went there to eat.

Wang Cheng's luck was not bad. Jinding Hotel was relatively close to Zhuang Yuan Fang. Although the traffic was slow, it wasn’t particularly congested, so it would take more than half an hour, so he would arrive at about 6:00.

Pang Chunjuan, his sister, and Mili had already arrived one step ahead of him. The box was booked a few hours ago, they sat near a window by the lobby. When one entered, they could only see Pang Chunjuan's chubby figure. With their backs to the door, Wang Ziyu and Mili's figures were almost hidden from view.

Although Pang Chunjuan was fat, she was a very enthusiastic person and had to lot to say, especially to Wang Cheng. While eating, Wang Cheng will talk to her, but never with food in his mouth. When conversing, Mili occasionally put in a few words, and the quietest was actually Wang Ziyu. Her personality was usually more cheerful, but since she had just met them, she was more restrained.

When they paid the bill, Wang Ziyu took out her student ID and said she was the provincial champion. When she was approved, the waiter looked at her differently.

Pang Chunjuan paid and smiled. This was probably the cheapest meal she had eaten at Zhuang Yuan Fang.
