123: Bear Child
Mama Wang went to the grandparents’ house for only an hour. When she returned, she had a bamboo basket in her hand. In the basket were more than 20 newly-hatched chicks. They were hatched by the grandparents’ household and were raised since almost two months ago. Now that the time was right, and the grandma learned that Mama Wang wanted to raise chickens, and let her get some today.
Newborn chicks were relatively fragile and needed to be well taken care of. When their bodies were stronger, they didn’t need to spend too much energy. Mama Wang was also relatively idle these days, so she could only do this.
When she returned, Chu Yifeng had not left. Mama Wang was not surprised. At about three o'clock, Wang Cheng told her he was going to the jam shop with Chu Yifeng, and then the two of them left.
At the jam shop, Guan Jiahe and Guan Ying had been out for delivery since the morning. When Wang Cheng and Chu Yifeng arrived, they had just returned.
With the increase in the order of jams and other dry goods, the two were no longer as idle as they were at the beginning. They would have to deliver almost every day, half-dead upon their return. Guan Jiahe felt tired, let alone Guan Ying. Her whole small face didn't seem to have any energy at all.
"Dad." Wang Cheng walked into the shop. Papa Wang looked back at him. As soon as he was about to speak, he saw Chu Yifeng coming in behind him. "Why did Xiao Chu also come?"
“On the way,” Chu Yifeng said. Facing Papa Wang, there was no need to explain too much. He believed it with just one sentence. Wang Cheng wanted to say, ‘You changed your old mouth so quickly. The last time you called him Mr. Chu, this time you’re changing it to Xiao Chu.’ This was most likely from him talking to Mama Wang over the phone.
Papa Wang turned to Guan Jiahe and said, "Jiahe, you and Guan Ying should go home from work first. Since Chengcheng has already arrived, it is enough for me to watch the shop with him. You ran outside for the whole day and must be tired, go to bed early at night."
Seeing the two of them hesitating, Wang Cheng said concisely, "Dad is right, Cousin, you should get off work first."
Guan Jiahe came down and left with Guan Ying.
Papa Wang immediately greeted Chu Yifeng. When the customers came, Wang Cheng had to deal with them. Wang Cheng had already accepted his fate. Every time Chu Yifeng was there, his father would automatically ignore his son and send him away to the customers. Wang Cheng took a paper out of the cabinet and I found a big pen, writing a new advertisement to recruit employees.
He planned to recruit two more employees, preferably male. He would give priority to driving so that they could take turns to deliver with his cousin. In the beginning, he thought too simply. He didn't expect his cousin to work so hard to support his family, it was not easy for everyone. After writing it, he stuck it on the outside of the shop with glue.
"Chengcheng, what are you posting?" Papa Wang saw his movement and asked probingly.
"Recruitment advertisement. By the way, Dad, what about that stupid pig? Why aren’t you watching it?" When Papa Wang came over in the morning, he also brought over the fragrant pig.
"It should be in the baozi shop next door, go and see.”
Wang Cheng went over and saw that it was inside, playing with the owner of the baozi shop’s four-year-old son. He was small, but had great energy to play around. He used a bun to lure the pig, and then he pulled the rope around his neck. He let it go over and try to eat, as if it was fun to watch it struggle with a peach.
"It's Wang Cheng, come take your little pig." The owner of the baozi shop immediately greeted him warmly when she saw him.
"Yes."
"Wait a minute, I’ll ask Qiang Zai to give you back the little pig." The lady boss went to her son as she said that. She thought that he would give the little pig back. However, when he heard that he had to return it to someone else, he would not budge or loosen his hold, immediately unhappy. Though he was only four years old, his strength was not small. He pulled the fragrant pig into the house forcefully, and continued yelling that he wouldn’t give it to her. The lady boss was so angry that she dragged him over and hit him on the buttocks twice. “Smelly boy, how can you take another person’s things as your own? Return it to him quicly."
"I won’t, I won’t, this little pig is mine, so I won't give it to him." Qiang Zai cried, holding the fragrant pig in his arms and refused to let go.
Wang Cheng watched this scene silently. He knew that the child was pampered by his grandmother. He remembered seeing the child's grandmother bring a dog that was several weeks old to play with him. But the child was not playing with the puppy, but was toying with the puppy, instead, dragging its tail, trying to use scissors to cut its fur, and also wanting to pinch its neck. This probably irritated the puppy, and as a result, his face was scratched and his family terrified. They quickly hugged him to get the vaccine. Later, Wang Chengcheng never saw the puppy again. He forgot to tell Papa Wang not to give the little kid the pig.
Qiang Zai's mother was embarrassed. Although it was said that he was childish, it also showed that the adult hadn't taught him well. Suddenly, no matter how loud her son unwillingly cried or not, she handed the pig to Wang Cheng.
"Wang Cheng, I'm really sorry, I will teach Qiang Zai."
"It doesn't matter." Wang Cheng took the fragrant pig, looked at Qiang Zai who was crying, and turned back to the shop. Qiang Zai wanted to chase him out, but was caught by his mother.
"What happened?" Chu Yifeng stood on the threshold, his eyes falling on the dying fragrant pig in his arms, presumably having heard the sounds next door. Wang Cheng saw his dad greet the customers, and explained as he walked up, "It's okay. I met an unpleasant bear child. This stupid pig was almost killed when playing. It should know that I'm better now." The last sentence brought pride. If he hadn't just come here today, it would have been impossible for Papa Wang to ask the bear child for the pig. His father was more soft-hearted.
Papa Wang sent the guests away, and the bear child next door was still crying and crying. Unknowing of the circumstances, he shook his head and said with emotion: "Nowadays, children really can’t be spoiled. Qiang Zai was too pampered by his grandma. After that, he was crying every day, hitting people as soon as they did something he didn't like. Even a customer was beaten by him yesterday." However, when he had a grandson, he would become like Grandma Qiang. He wouldn’t ever remember that he had once said this sentence.
"According to me, this kind of bear child should be beaten directlyl." Wang Cheng said. If he had a son and his son dared to do this, he would be killed directly. Fortunately, he probably wouldn’t have children in the future.
"Keep it down." Papa Wang was worried about being heard by Qiang Zai's parents. He didn't know what they would think. Everyone was neighbors; there was no need to make the relationship so rigid.
Wang Cheng shrugged, "Dad, have you been too busy today? Are you tired? Then hand it over to me; do you want to go home first?
"What about you? You didn’t seem to drive over?"
"I don't care. The shop doesn't lack a bed, and dinner can also be settled here." Chu Yifeng would certainly not leave easily now.
"All right, then ..."
"Don't neglect Mr. Chu, right. I’ve heard you say it many times, you don't need to worry about it anymore. I understand." Wang Cheng knew that his father would definitely say this sentence without even needing to guess his words.
"It's good that you know. I'll tell your mother about you spending the night in the shop." Papa Wang told him this and left after a while, the stupid pig taken back with him. Wang Cheng turned around, "Boss Chu, are you satisfied?"
Chu Yifeng bullied him, and they got close together, "I will repay you well."
Wang Cheng had looked around nervously for a second, worried that he might be seen by others. However, the next second, he spoke with black lines on his face, "The dog can’t change its shit-eating behavior.”
"That shit must be fragrant." Chu Yifeng laughed.
"You’re shit." Wang Cheng's face had an expression of eating shit.
When it was past five o'clock, Wang Cheng left Chu Yifeng in the shop for a while after seeing that there were no guests. He went to buy vegetables by himself. The street where the vegetables were sold was not far away from the shop, it was only a few steps away. Because they ate more at noon, he intended to make dinner a little lighter.
However, when Wang Cheng came back after buying the vegetables, the deserted jam shop was crowded with people, mostly young women.
What was wrong?
Wang Cheng thought that something had happened to Chu Yifeng, and he quickly pushed the crowd away. The women pushed by him complained, but he ignored them. He saw that the group of women were lined up to buy jams; the person selling it was Chu Yifeng.
“Not helping yet?" Chu Yifeng had seen him.
Wang Cheng came to him after a moment. "What happened, I just went out for a while, why are there suddenly so many people?"
"I also don't know. You let me watch the jam shop here, and not long after you left, a few women came over, gradually increasing."
Wang Cheng suddenly knew what was going on, and said, "Drawing the wind and attracting the butterflies.”
Because of the sudden increase of customers, they were too busy to send them away until 6:30. Wang Cheng was worried that if another such group of guests came, supper would be changed to a midnight snack, so he closed the shop without hesitation.
The jam shop's kitchen did not have the full equipment of their home, nor did the kitchen look good. Fortunately, it was relatively clean in terms of hygiene. He was used to using luxurious kitchen utensils. When he used this type again, it felt awkward. Wang Cheng speedily cooked two bowls of full-sized dragon beard noodles, and added two braised eggs to it. In addition to beef, he also cooked pork ribs, which were full of flavor and were fragrant. After eating, Wang Cheng remembered that he had to take a bath at night. Chu Yifeng seemed to have no clothes, but in the blink of an eye, he took a bag of clothes from the car and returned. This guy was really prepared!
