258: The Frightened Couple

The two found a hot pot food stall for dinner.

Hot pot was not particularly suitable during this season, but the food stall was still very lively. By the time they arrived, there were not many seats left. Two well-dressed, handsome men coming to such a place decisively attracted many onlookers’ attention. After searching the scene, they finally found an empty table.

However, someone was faster than them. Just as Wang Cheng was about to point Chu Yifeng towards the table, someone from behind them pushed him. A couple quickly occupied the table, one of them being the person who had just pushed him. Fortunately, another guest had just finished eating. Wang Cheng asked the waiter to prepare the table for them, and after the table was cleared, the two finally had a chance to sit.

Wang Cheng took out a few napkins and handed a few to Chu Yifeng. He then wiped the table while talking about how he had visited this same food stall with his roommate when in school. It was very lively at that time, and his roommate and he came often. He didn't expect that it would still be open, and even be operating on a larger scale than before. Hopefully, the taste should have stayed the same.

"It's not hygienic." Chu Yifeng said.

"Don't expect such food stalls to have the same luxuries of hygiene as hotel restaurants. Besides, ordinary food stalls are not even as hygienic as this one. This food stall is also much cleaner than it was before." Wang Cheng asked the waiter for a pot of boiling water, and put the chopsticks, bowls and spoons inside. It was now all clean.

The two had to wait for over 20 minutes before the waiter finally brought the hot pot they had ordered, which was a large beef hot pot and many side dishes that mostly consisted of meat. This was one of the reasons why food stalls were so popular; boys liked to eat meat.

"Now tell me what happened at the police station." Chu Yifeng was still thinking about it.

Wang Cheng said while brushing sauce on his beef, "I met a man who wanted to kill me at an intersection this afternoon. Fortunately, I sensed that something was wrong and took precautions in advance. I also broke his leg. I suspect that someone hired him, because his combat skills are not bad, but he’s not very professional and seems more like a muscleman. If he was a hitman, he would not have intended to die with me."

As soon as he finished speaking, a sudden movement came from a nearby table. Wang Cheng turned his head to see the couple from earlier hurriedly attempting to clear their table. When they saw his gaze, they panicked and lowered their heads.

Chu Yifeng frowned, "There are not many people in Shanhai City who have an enmity with you."

"There really aren’t many, so this is very likely to be the work of the Sun family. The only ones who have a big enmity with me are them, don’t you agree?" Wang Cheng put the brushed beef into his bowl.

"It’s very likely to be them. Want me to find someone to check it out?"

Wang Cheng was about to say no because he could let Zhang Wu check instead, when he suddenly remembered that Zhang Wu was very busy recently and probably didn't have much downtime. "Then you can check it out for me. Sun Jian is in jail so it’s easier to investigate him, but withSun Degang, it’s more troublesome. Zhang Wu also told me earlier that Sun Degang has recently made some big moves."

While the two chatted and ate, the couple at the next table quickly ate. Unlike during an ordinary dinner date, the girl did not eat slowly. By the time half of Wang Cheng and Chu Yifeng’s hot pot ingredients were still left on the table, the other couple had finished eating. They hurried away after paying their bill as if they were being chased by a ghost.

After the two finished the hot pot and returned to the apartment, David called Wang Cheng. Wang Cheng let Chu Yifeng take a bath first, then moved a computer to the living room and contacted David using chat software. He then told David what Zhang Wu had told him that morning.

The information Zhang Wu had given Wang Cheng was all he had investigated in advance, including a record of who had conspired with Sun Degang to destroy them.

Ten minutes later, David gave a ‘no problem’ emoticon.

Wang Cheng returned a ‘since it’s you, I’m rest assured’ .

Time passed by and Chu Yifeng had already finished his shower. After Wang Cheng finished reading news about Yazhi, 20 minutes had passed. Usually, David didn’t even need 10 minutes to get something done, so it took unusually long this time.

"It seems that he has met his opponent." Chu Yifeng sat down beside him, "It should take a while, so you can go take a bath first, I will help you watch the situation. I took your clothes out for you and put it next to the bed."

Wang Cheng thought about it for a moment then stood up. "Alright, then."

Because he was eager to know the result, Wang Cheng came back downstairs in less than ten minutes still wet and with a white towel on his head. Before he reached Chu Yifeng, he asked him if David had sent a message. When Chu Yifeng did not answer, Wang Cheng himself leaned over to see.

The originally blank screen now had more dialogue. David was unaware that the person chatting with him was his boss, and so he reported the battle as if Chu Yifeng was Wang Cheng.

David had begun to work soon after receiving the task from Wang Cheng. However, as Zhang Wu said, Sun Degang had hired a hacker who was a computer master. The important information that the company had mysteriously lost was also this hacker’s doing. David was discovered not long after he first invaded the hacker, and the two sides engaged in an online hacking war. Neither would submit. When the stalemate lasted for about 20 minutes, David prevailed. Not only did he successfully hack into their computer, but he also discovered something unexpected.

It turned out that although the hacker was hired by Sun Degang, he obviously had other intentions. While helping Sun Degang, he copied the missing information and hid it in his computer. If it weren't for Wang Cheng originally telling David about the situation, David simply wouldn’t have realized what was going on at all.

In addition, this was actually a trap set against them by Sun Degang.

Sun Degang knew that Zhang Wu was likely to find another hacker to hack into their computers, so he planned a trap. He asked his hacker to put fake evidence and viruses in their computers, so that if David did succeed, what he discovered would be fake, and David’s computer may even be destroyed by a virus.

It was just that Sun Degang never expected that the hacker he hired would disrupt his entire plan.

"The hacker is a man with two brushes*. He almost succeeded in winning over me, but luckily, I was responsive enough. It can be said that he is unfortunate to have met this master. Because he wanted to use a virus to knock me down, I threw many viruses into their computers in return, and now their devices are most likely unusable."

The chat window was full of David’s words.

Wang Cheng had once said that he would invite him to a personally cooked meal when he came back to China.

David was not stupid. Whether or not he could come to China depended on whether or not his boss would give him the chance to. Since he thought Chu Yifeng was not present, he directly asked Wang Cheng to help say good things about him in front of Chu Yifeng. That would be the greatest payment for his work.

Wang Cheng couldn't help but laugh when he saw this. He poked Chu Yifeng in the face, "Do you see this? Your employee is complaining that you are too harsh."

Chu Yifeng indifferently returned a sentence in the chat: "Because you’ve made arrangements behind your boss’ back, your salary is deducted."

David sent a terrified expression, and then quickly replied: "Wang Cheng, don't scare me like that, your tone was just like my boss’. I am easily frightened, so don’t try me."

Wang Cheng suddenly fell into Chu Yifeng's arms, laughing.

For the sake of David’s little heart, Wang Cheng decided not to tell him that the person he was talking to really was his boss. After Wang Cheng said that he’d try his best to say a good word about him, David heaved a sigh of relief and said goodbye to him. He then went offline.

With the evidence that David helped him get, they were able to drag Sun Degang down. Wang Cheng was not worried that the hacker would tell Sun Degang about this. After all, the hacker was the ill-intentioned one in the first place. If Sun Degang learned of the hacker’s doings, he would definitely not let him go. So, Sun Degang probably didn’t know anything about the situation.

Wang Cheng didn't tell Zhang Wu the good news right away. He printed out the information and then deleted it from his computer. In this way, even if the hacker came, he would have no reason to be afraid because he had no important information on his computer.

"The next part can be left to Zhang Wu." Chu Yifeng put a hand under Wang Cheng's arm and dragged him onto the sofa.

Wang Cheng lazily rolled over and pressed onto him. "The evidence is all there, so now I can let someone check it. With Zhang Wu’s ability, he shouldn’t have any problems with this. I believe he is well-prepared to do it. Tomorrow, we’ll go visit someone in prison and show them the evidence."

"You mean Sun Jian?"

"That’s right. I always feel like he has something to do with the person who tried to kill me. The only person in Shanhai City who hates me to the bone is Sun Jian, who had fallen from heaven into jail. I am just going to test him. As a person who is sitting through prison*, he probably has nothing to worry about. Anyways, I still have something to say to him," Wang Cheng said with a smirk.

[T/N: part of a poem about a revolutionist’s perseverance even when imprisoned]

Sun Jian had taken several lives directly and indirectly, and he was also involved in drug trafficking. After all those cases were turned out, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Even if he had the opportunity to change his fixed-term imprisonment in the future, the day of his release would still be far, and he would probably be old by then.

"You can do whatever you want, but isn’t it time to meet my needs, now?" The whole time, Chu Yifeng was pressing on him and rubbing him, so he had long made himself aroused.

Wang Cheng was too focused just now and didn't notice the rubbing. Only then did he feel that there was a swelling heat source pressing on his thigh. Wang Cheng rubbed that place a few times without retreating, and sure enough, he heard an inhale from in front of his head. When he looked forward to say a few words, his world turned upside down, and the positions of the two suddenly changed. The man above his body was like a cheetah who couldn't wait to devour him.
